Terrific film, Denise - interesting, informative, entertaining and very well put together. Not that I’m any judge of such things, but the production qualities, narration, etc., seemed as good as other high quality professional docs I’ve seen.

Frankly, some of the so-called, pro-life movement doesn’t come off looking very good - contemptable to claim exceptions for rape and incest in during the public vote, when the informed knew they were expressly rejected in the legislative process. However, as they say, facts are stubborn things, and I can’t attribute their unflattering portrayal as bias in the film making. It was what it was - and you offered them the opportunity to present their side of the story - that’s more than fair.

Great Job, Great Film for SD Political Wonks,

    Joe.

Wow. You’ve made my day. Thanks for the good review. I still see ways to improve the film, but at some point, it needs to be done! Thanks for watching, too. -Denise

    Fantastic documentary Denise!
I had seen the entire version earlier this fall and watched the 1-hr last night. It reaffirmed how amazing our win this November truly was. Do you feel any need to make a follow up to the fight over IM 11? The lies and deception went way deeper this year than in 2006. Concerning my situation (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) VYFL first said selective termination is never needed (than why does the procedure exist?). When my story first hit the airwaves Dr. Glenn Ridder called my perinatologist at Sanford asking about TTTS, and asked if selective termination was ever needed in cases of TTTS, my doctor said yes it absolutly was, and in many other cases of fatal fetal anomalies. But Dr. Ridder choose to go on TV and say that selective termination is never needed, and that “killing your offspring” is not good medical advice. VYFL than tried the argument that my life was in danger therefore would be covered under that exception. But my life was not in danger, and how could they make that claim without seeing my medical records? VYFL stooped so low as to use my picture on a TV ad and mailing with the word “Deceptive” above it. The lies went on and on, and the SD voters saw through it, thankfully.
So if you ever want to do a follow up, just let me know, I’ve got some interesting stories, I just hope you have plenty of tape.
Thanks again for exposing the lies spewed by VYFL.

Thanks for your kind words, Tiffany. Perhaps you didn’t entirely know what you were getting into by becoming so visibly involved in a campaign, but it seems you are tough enough to take the rough and tumble of it. I don’t think I have another film in me, but I might update the ending to reflect the outcome of the 2008 election. It all takes time and money - and motiviation. I seem to be a bit short on all 3 just at the moment, but that should turn around soon! Thanks again and best to you and your family, Denise
